The addition of a contemporary style floor to this Plateau-Mont-Royal residence was special in that it was located in a patrimonial protection area under the Ministère de la Culture et des Communications du Québec.

Furthermore, the original structure of the building, which was more than a century old, was not designed to withstand such an additional load and necessitated the insertion of an additional steel structure as well as piles that go all the way down to the bedrock. Moreover, the owner lived in the residence throughout the completion of the work.
